In an interview with Spanish newspaper Elmundo, a Canadian filmmaker was asked to coincide with the creation of tentpole cinema or high-budget films.
Villeneuve said the problem in this model is seen as Marvel films, which may be just a model of "reduction and attachment" of premature movies.
“Perhaps the problem is that we are in front of so many Marvel films that it is nothing more than 'lowering and clinging' to others. Maybe those types of movies have grown up and become a bit worse ... ”said Villeneuve. “But the big and expensive movies are very, very popular today. I don't think I can be hopeless at all, ”he added.
The filmmaker said the films, made with the help of his co-stars Christopher Nolan or Alfonso Cuaron, showed that films were expensive but still popular with many viewers.
“Consider the incredible era of Hollywood to see that commercial movies can create a different kind of inspiration for, therefore, political. I never felt like I was lost or as an obstacle to having a beneficiary price list to do what I wished to do. Upside down.
“Who said that a high-quality film can't work at the same time? I'm currently looking for people like Christopher Nolan or Alfonso Cuaron, ”said Villeneuve.
The filmmaker is not alone in his filming of Marvel films.
Last year, veteran filmmaker Martin Scorsese had a haughty smile when he said that Marvel movies do not serve movie purposes and are one of the park's main entertainment venues.
Villeneuve's contemporary film "Dune" is a tentpole work and is currently set for launch inside the US on October 22nd.
